NEW FOR 2018: Each team is guaranteed three (3) games + Finals. Bracket play will consist of three (3) games on Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning with Finals played on Monday. Each game is 70 minutes. EACH TEAM MAY BE REQUIRED TO PLAY ONE GAME PER DAY.
Entries submitted after January 20th will only be considered for acceptance if there is space available – those teams applying late will be placed on a waiting list. Entries whose payment is not received by January 20th, 2017 will be considered late entries. ***Entry fee to be sent within 2 weeks of submitting the team application. Refunds will be made to all teams not accepted. Once a team is accepted and paid, no refunds will be given.
Partial refunds will be made if the tournament is canceled due to weather or Acts of God, but approximately half of the entry fee will be retained.
Selection Process: The showcase committee takes pride in thoroughly reviewing team applications. With an extensive research period, the tournament committee will consider equally:
- Team history
- Results (and yes, a 1-0 loss to top competition is better than a 10-0 win against much lesser competition)Placement in national ranking, state ranking, provincial, league, and other notable competitions
- Team makeup
- Other events of acceptance
Our main focus during the selection process is QUALITY OVER QUANTITY.
Acceptance notifications will be e-mailed shortly after the deadline. Early acceptance may be granted for teams traveling from outside the state of Arizona, with the decision made within two (2) weeks after receiving the application provided the application and payments received before the deadline.
Applications will be accepted from teams affiliated with USYSA, US Club Soccer, Canadian Soccer Association and FIFA affiliated youth soccer associations outside of the United States.
THIS IS A STAY AND PLAY EVENT FOR TRAVEL TEAMS. All teams booking hotel rooms must use the selected hotels provided by the Florida Coast Cup which is being managed by Housing Connections to ensure competitive rates are offered at quality hotels. Any team not using the approved service will NOT be permitted to participate in the tournament and a refund will not be issued.
